Don’t visit if feeling ill

Press Release

Riverside Health Care wants to advise the public, due to respiratory cases seen locally, to refrain from visiting its facilities if you are experiencing any influenza (’flu) symptoms.
These include:
•severe aches and pains, headache, and a fever often above 38.5 C that lasts for two-four days;
•extreme exhaustion, fatigue, and weakness that can last two-three weeks; and/or
•cough and chest discomfort that can be severe, with occasional stuffy nose and sore throat
Influenza starts suddenly and will keep many normally-healthy people away from regular activity for one-two weeks or more.
It can hospitalize people with other health issues, and lead to serious illness in some elderly people and infants.
Remember the best way to stop the spread of infectious disease is to wash your hands frequently.
Be sure to use the hand sanitizers provided at the entrance when you enter and exit Riverside’s facilities.
Most of all, ensure you are well if you are visiting our patients or residents.
