A sure sign of spring is the registration for Devlin youth baseball.
T-ball is available for those aged five-seven, with softball for ages eight-10.
Baseball will be held Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. at the Devlin Ball Park, with the first practice scheduled for May 4 (weather permitting).
The cost for the season is $20 per player, which includes a T-shirt.

Another sure sign of spring is the “Spring Fling” tea and bake sale at Guthrie United Church here in Devlin.
This will take place Sunday, April 10 from 2-4 p.m.
Anyone wishing to donate new items for the penny table can drop them off at Greensides store or the post office.

Organizers of Spring Fever Days in Emo are gearing up for another successful event.
This year’s dates are April 15-16.
Every year, hundreds of district residents take part in Spring Fever Days, enjoying the trade show at the arena, great sales from local merchants, and registering for the free draws.
In conjunction with Spring Fever Days, the Emo Legion will host its annual “Crafts Galore” on April 15-16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Tables are available for rent (but selling out quickly) for the cost of $10/day.
A soup-and-sandwich lunch also will be provided at the Legion both days.

I’m hoping at least a few people noticed that I did not have my Devlin news in the Times for the past two weeks.
I had the good fortune of going to the Bahamas for a week, then return to my son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren at my home for two weeks.
It’s been a great March!
