WRRD Lions announce Festival of Lights winners

The WRRD Lions Festival of Lights has some spectacular displays. Winners of 2020’s Festival was announced on Friday evening, December 18 at the Rainy River Legion by festival committee chair Marty Kreger. First place prize of $1000 went to Betty Lou Nordin, just east of Rainy River on Worthington Rd #2 a ½ mi north of Hwy #11 with a1st $1000. It is an beautiful countryside arrangement of lighting.

Shannon and Taya Hagarty at the foot of 2nd St W, garnered a 2nd place win of $500. The Hagartys are noted for their many colourful holiday displays.

Millie Lindal near Arbor Vitae took 3rd place of $250 with her rural display. It is located off 619 North of Pinewood to Sutherland Road 3 then East 1.5 miles.

All the entries can be located on a Google Map posted on the West Rainy River District Festival of Lights Facebook page. Simply click on the map to see all the entrants and their map location “pins”. By zooming in on Rainy River you can see the streets and individual locations within the Town. Get out and see the displays before they come down in the New Year.
