Woman’s death ruled as non-suspicious

Red Lake OPP has concluded an investigation into the death of 46-year-old Bertha Quill of Pikangikum, who was residing in Red Lake.
Quill was found unconscious and unresponsive outside near Howey Street in Red Lake on the morning of July 12, 2011.
She was taken to the Red Lake hospital and later flown to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, where she succumbed to her injuries.
After a lengthy investigation, it was determined the deceased died as a result of natural causes.
The death has been deemed as non-suspicious and no further criminal investigation is warranted.
