Woman talks about foot care

Guest speaker Melanie Murray of Rainy River talked about foot care to the seniors on hand last Thursday for the weekly “Wheels to Meals” program at the Emo Legion.
“Reflexology is a natural healing art,” noted Murray. “Through an acupressure massage on the feet, tension is relieved, circulation is improved, and the body heals itself.”
With 28 years of nursing experience, Murray also is certified in advanced foot care, certified in reflexology, and registered with Canadian Reflexology Association.
She runs clinics in Rainy River, Bergland, Morson, Fort Frances, and Emo (her day at Emo is usually Thursdays). For appointments, call 852-3308 or 275-8514 (cell), or fax her at 852-1227.
Murray also can be reached via e-mail at mvmurray@jam21.net
“A foot care session consists of reduction of nails, length and thickness, topped off with a foot massage to promote circulation and relaxation,” said Murray, adding proper nail care is essential for good health.
Murray also demonstrated ways to relax areas which correspond with every cell and system in the body, which means massage techniques are used for improvements.
Nineteen seniors were on hand for this session, which took place after the lunch hour. Carpet bowling was featured before lunch.
