Woman charged over break-and-enter

On May 25 around 8:35 a.m., members of the Rainy River District OPP responded to a call of a break-and-enter to a local business and residence in Fort Frances.
An investigation was commenced by members of the Fort Frances OPP and the Community Street Crime Unit.
Officers confirmed a break-and-enter had taken place, and that a quantity of property in excess of $5,000 and a vehicle had been stolen from the business and residence.
The vehicle was recovered a short time later. Some of the property has been recovered by the OPP but a portion of it remains outstanding.
The investigation is ongoing.
As a result of the police investigation, a 45-year-old Fort Frances woman has been charged with numerous criminal offences, including three counts of theft over $5,000.
She also was charged with break, enter, and commit an indictable offence, as well as possession of property obtained by crime.
The accused was held in custody pending a court appearance here scheduled for today.
