Woman charged in child’s death

A Fort Frances woman has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a three-year-old child of the Whitefish Bay First Nation back in July, 2005.
Falcon Cameron, 26, was scheduled to make a court appearance today in Kenora, where she presently is in custody, the Treaty #3 Police Service said in a press release this morning.
The child, Malcom Jack, was transported July 25, 2005 via ambulance from Whitefish Bay to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, and then on to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, in obvious medical distress.
The child passed away the following day at the Health Sciences Centre.
A post-mortem examination was conducted there July 28. The cause of death is not being released at this time, police said.
The OPP’s Northwest Region Crime Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch is assisting the Treaty #3 Police Service in the investigation.
