Wolf awareness posters available

Join Voyageurs National Park in recognizing the U.S. National Wolf Awareness Week program.
The 2005 National Wolf Awareness Poster is available at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center while supplies last.
The visitor center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
These free educational posters are perfect for schools, libraries, nature centres, or any person interested in learning more about wolf populations around the nation.
Robert Bateman’s painting, entitled “Arctic Evening—White Wolf,” was selected as the 2005 winner of the National Wolf Awareness Week poster contest.
Bateman is an internationally-acclaimed Canadian artist.
Voyageurs National Park supports an estimated six gray wolf packs, including between 40-55 wolves.
The park has worked with local educators to develop travelling education trunks and lesson plans that help students to learn about wolf adaptations, their role in food chains, the wolf’s life cycle, and wolf pack structure and communication.
