As the conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, Westland Insurance is showing its support for the Ukrainian people by donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support its humanitarian efforts.
“This is not just a conflict for the Ukrainian people, and there’s an urgent need for people around the world to support relief efforts there,” says Jason Wubs, CEO at Westland Insurance Group.
“Supporting our communities is at the core of who we are at Westland, and this includes coming together to support the global community when there’s a crisis of this magnitude.”
Money raised for the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal enables the Red Cross to respond to humanitarian needs generated by this conflict, which could include preparedness, immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery, and other critical humanitarian needs as they arise.
Canadians who want to donate to the Red Cross to support the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal can do so online at www.redcross.ca or by calling 1-800-418-1111. The Canadian government will match every donation up to $10 million.
