There is no greater personal reward than to give freely of one’s time and effort towards a cause you truly believe in.
Volunteers are an integral part of the success of so many worthy charitable endeavours, and serve as the tireless engines that help these organizations continue to run.
Giving back to our communities through the spirit of volunteerism is among the greatest rewards a person can achieve.
Investors Group has a great depth of hands-on experience that proves the Volunteer Canada theme for 2004, “Volunteers Grow Community.”
A strong commitment to the communities where Investors Group consultants and employees live and work has meant that volunteers and volunteering has been an important part of their daily life for more than 75 years.
So what is behind the spirit of volunteering? Part of it obviously has to do with a strong Canadian tradition to help those in need. But it also has to do with the realities of today—the community’s needs continue to grow.
From organizations that promote arts, culture, and amateur sports to those that tend to the health, educational, and developmental needs of the vulnerable among us, all have more that they want to accomplish.
Only committed people will make the sacrifice to tend to the basic needs of the community.
There is no easy out—what makes volunteering so personally rewarding.
Volunteers are the people who helped make our community what it is today, and we should never lose sight of that.
Everyone must keep the volunteer spirit alive, well, and growing in your community. Because if you don’t, who else will?
