Vinnick to play at Cornell Farms

Press Release

It’s been a six-year wait but Suzie Vinnick will finally be at Cornell Farms on Wednesday, Aug. 7 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A Saskatoon native transplanted to the Niagara Region of Ontario, roots and blues singer Suzie Vinnick is a must see musician according to Kim Cornell.

“I have known Suzie for years, back in the day when I was programming for the Tour de Fort concert series and knew that we had to have her in the Barn,” he noted.

“She has a voice you’ll never forget and the pure joy she exudes when she picks up that guitar is so worth the show,” added Cornell.

Vinnick’s career has seen triumph after triumph. Among her most recent successes: being nominated for a 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award for Producer of the Year with her co-producer, Mark Lalama.

Vinnick achieved finalist status in the Solo/Duo Category at the 2013 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tn.; received the 2012 CBC Saturday Night Blues Great Canadian Blues Award and the 2012 Sirius XM Canada Blues Artist of the Year.

Suzie has won 10 Maple Blues Awards (she has been nominated for 22 so far), won the 2011 Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Vocalist of the Year and is a three-time Juno Nominee.

According to Blues Blast Magazine, “Suzie Vinnick is a unique talent; a triple threat singer/songwriter/guitarist. She is emotive, joyous and funky all in the same song.”

Her music has appeared in commercials for Tim Hortons, Interac, Ontario Foodland, Tetley Tea and Shoppers Drug Mart as well as the soundtracks for MVP: The Secret Lives of Hockey Wives, ReGenesis and the film, A Touch of Grey.

Vinnick has toured nationally with Stuart McLean’s The Vinyl Café, the John McDermott Band, and she has performed for Canadian Peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf. She was also the voice of Tim Hortons for five years.

It is shaping up to be a great night!
