Vernon Thompson is vying for a position as councillor in the Township of Emo.
He is a self-employed mechanic—Vernon Thompson Repair—and has a wife of 34 years, Doreen. He has two sons, Richard (Reneé) and Darwin (Cory), and two grandchildren, Jesse and Cierah.
Thompson has not held a position in public office in the past, but has served on the executive of the Emo Legion for a number of years and also has operated his own business since 1994.
He decided to run for council because he believes it is time for a change in council. He would like to see something done about the ditches and roads.
Thompson also would like to know the status of the municipality’s water and sewer system.
