Yesterday around 9:30 p.m., Rainy River District OPP officers responded to a report of a deceased male located about 30 km north of the junction of Highway 11 and Highway 611 North in an unorganized township.
The deceased male, a U.S. resident, had been hunting with friends but failed to return to his hunt camp when expected.
He was located by members of his hunting party after a brief search.
The coroner has released the scene and the death is considered not suspicious in nature.
A post-mortem was being conducted today at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora to determine the exact cause of death.
The man’s name will be released pending notification of next-of-kin.
