On Saturday around 8:25 a.m., Nipigon OPP responded to a call of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in McAllister Township east of Nipigon.
Officers attended the scene and located a tractor-trailer unit that had left the roadway, entered the ditch, and rolled onto its side.
Emergency services, including Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and the Nipigon Fire Department, attended to assist.
The two occupants of the vehicle were located and pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims were identified as Sarvjeet Singh Chanal, the 53-year-old male driver, and Gurtej Chanal, the 23-year-old male passenger, both of Shelburne, Ont.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
