Two fires in region

Two new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by yesterday afternoon.
Fort Frances Fire #15, a human-caused blaze located on an island on Rainy Lake, was listed as “being held” at 0.2 hectares.
Kenora Fire #44, meanwhile, was classed as “being observed” at 0.1 ha.
The lightning-caused blaze is located on an island on Lake of the Woods.
The forest fire hazard remains “low” in the western sectors of the region but “high-extreme” in the eastern sectors.
