Two new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region yesterday afternoon.
Nipigon Fire #19, a human-caused blaze near Jackfish Lake, was listed as “being held” at 2.1 hectares in size.
Meanwhile, Nipigon Fire #18, located near Neys Provincial Park, was “under control” at 0.2 ha.
The fire hazard is “high” in the northern sectors of the region and “low-moderate” in the southern sectors.
