Bacteriological sampling of the beaches in Emo and Rainy River has indicated E. coli levels have returned to acceptable levels, the Northwestern Health Unit reported this morning.
The swimming advisory posted at both beaches has been rescinded based on two consecutive samples with average E. coli counts of less than 100 units per 100 ml, the health unit said.
It noted weekly bacteriological sampling will continue to be carried out for the duration of the season to ensure water quality does not affect the health and safety of swimmers.
