Train derails north of Dryden

A train derailment north of Dryden early this morning caused no injuries or environmental concerns, Dryden OPP reported.
The mishap occurred on the CN main line when two intermodal cars from an eastbound train derailed, tumbling down an embankment near the Amesdale road crossing, about 21 km north of the town.
CN crews are presently on location cleaning up the scene.
In other news, Couchiching First Nation Police arrested and charged a male young offender Aug. 29 with assaulting police, uttering threats, and resisting arrest. Police made the arrest after responding to an earlier complaint at Couchiching First Nation.
The youth will appear in court Sept. 17.
