Traffic stop results in drug seizure

A Red Lake OPP officer stopped a pickup truck speeding on Highway 105, just south of Ear Falls, on Saturday.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that illegal drugs were located in the vehicle.
A quantity of marijuana, with an approximate street value of $8,300, and cocaine, with an estimated vale of $1,000, were seized during this investigation.
A 56-year-old Pickle Lake man was arrested and charged with one count of trafficking a controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and one count of speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He was remanded into custody and transported to Kenora for a bail hearing yesterday.
