The Emo Toy Lending and Resource Centre is going to make January look like “Winter in Wonderland” with various crafts planned for the children all month.
Fun in the Kitchen is planned Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 4-5 p.m.
Meanwhile, a sliding party is planned Thursday, Jan. 18 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. down at Lion’s Park. Then the following Thursday, the kiddies will work on pinatas.
And the Playground Group is having a Mickey Mouse Day on Friday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. until noon. This will be followed by picture colouring a week later.
A reminder short term child care is offered at the ETL on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Those interested must pre-register by calling the centre at 482-2946.
ETL co-ordinator Josette Vargas also said the centre is available to rent out for birthday parties any time it is not being used for programs or any scheduled activities.
In other news, a babysitter’s course for children aged 12 and over is being planned for after January. Cost is $10, and parents are asked to call the ETL to register their child.
Also starting in January, the process to register for Mom’s Night Out will be different. Those interested can call the ETL to register one week before the date.
The first 16 moms to call will be accepted, with a waiting list starting after that in the order that they are called in.
Vargas hopes this system eliminates any problems regarding registering for Mom’s Night Out.
Finally, there’s a new face at the ETL. Joan MacGibbon is the new assistant co-ordinator and Vargas asks everyone to help make her feel at home.
