The Ontario government has released the salaries of public-sector employees who were paid $100,000 or more in 2014.
Known as the “sunshine list,” the Town of Fort Frances has one more name on it.
New to the list is firefighter Wayne Riches, who earned $102,559.95 last year.
He joins Fire Chief Frank Sheppard, who earned $102,559.96 in 2014 compared to $100,778 in 2013, and firefighter Kirk Armstrong, who earned $107,319.66 in 2014 compared to $104,125 in 2013.
Meanwhile, Fort Frances CAO Mark McCaig earned $137,739.96 in 2014, up from $135,189.66 in 2013.
Operations and Facilities manager Doug Brown earned $111,552.48, up from his 2013 salary of $103,691.
Treasurer Laurie Witherspoon earned $102,66.92 in 2014, up slightly from $100,778 the previous year.

As part of the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, the province requires all provincial government, Crown agencies and corporations, the Ontario Power Generation, Hydro One and its subsidiaries, as well as publicly-funded organizations, to disclose the names, positions, salaries, and taxable benefits of employees who are paid more than $100,000 in a year.
“The people of Ontario have a right to know how their dollars are being spent,” said Treasury Board president Deb Matthews.
“Ontario has the leanest government in Canada while still providing high-quality public services that people can rely on,” she noted.
“Today, we are releasing the 2014 Public Sector Salary Disclosure list as part of our government’s commitment to be the most open and transparent government in the country,” Matthews added.
