Tournament fees to stay same

Town council has decided the fee structure for the baseball diamonds and soccer pitches behind St. Francis School here will stay the same this summer.
“The fees will stay as it has been but there will be an introduction of non-resident fees,” said Community Services manager George Bell, noting they will take effect April 1.
Resident fees will stay the same as previous years at $25/team for youths and $35/team for adults.
But non-residents youths will pay $30/team while non-resident adults face a $40/team fee.
Bell said an increase did not seem reasonable given there is very little demand–there’s only one main tournament a year–for use of the diamonds and pitches at St. Francis.
“[A fee increase] is not required,” he remarked. “It is high enough.”
