A Thunder Bay couple has been fined $8,400 for illegally possessing 24 walleye and 18 brook trout over the allowed limit.
Shane Corlett, 37, and Amanda Blackshaw, 25, who were not in court, were fined $4,200 each.
The fish have been forfeited to the Crown.
Court heard that back on Jan. 26, police found the fish in a freezer at Corlett and Blackshaw’s home. Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers were alerted and they laid charges.
Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman heard the case Nov. 1 in Thunder Bay.
