‘Tis the season for teas

The Catholic Women’s League at St. Patrick’s in Emo will be holding its annual Christmas tea and bake sale this Saturday (Nov. 24) from 1-3 p.m. in the church hall.
There also will be basket draws, as well as religious articles and raisin, apple, and meat pies for sale.
Admission is $5 at the door.
Come out for some tea and fellowship while kicking off the Christmas season by picking up a pie or two. All are welcome!

The Church of the Holy Spirit in Fort Frances is excited to be offering a new social activity!
This Friday evening (Nov. 23), the building will be transformed into a coffee house! Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with live music starting at 6:45.
People are invited to drop by to enjoy a beverage and some goodies while being entertained, with admission being $5.
Each person also will have the chance to shop at the bake table and the penny table located in the fireplace room.
Music will continue until about 8 p.m., then they will be drawing for the winners of the penny table.

Knox United Church in Emo will be offering a take-out Christmas dinner at no charge.
The meal will be ready to pick up at the United Church (3 Roy St.) for 1 p.m. on Dec. 25, with delivery to be offered if needed.
There will be sign-up sheet at the Golden Age Manor , Queen Street Manor, and the Emo food bank or you can contact Joyce Meyers (482-2086).

The annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” food drive will take place on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at various locations across the district.
Volunteers are needed for the annual event at Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo. Please volunteer for one-two hours to help hand out bags and to collect groceries at the door.
All items collected will go to the Emo food bank, which serves people from Nestor Falls to Onegaming First Nation, west to Chapple/Stratton, and east to the La Vallee/Alberton boundary.
High school students can earn volunteer hours needed to graduate.

There are new temporary hours at the Emo landfill site. The hours for Tuesday and Thursday now will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. while Saturday hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
