Tickets now going fast for ‘Legends’ game

Some NHL old-timers are getting ready to lace up their skates against the local Hopper’s Bruins game tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice for Kids Arena (warm-ups begin at 7 p.m.)
“It will be a good, entertaining hockey game,” co-organizer Bob Mainville predicted. “Hopefully the night will be successful.”
Up until yesterday, Mainville was worried about the success of the event due to a lack of interest.
But with all the buzz making its way around town, tickets suddenly are going fast. “Just today [Tuesday] the ticket sales have gone up a lot,” noted Mainville.
It’s looking as though the game will be a success. But if it doesn’t draw enough fans to the Memorial Sports Centre, it will be a one-time only deal.
“It’s up to the town,” Mainville remarked.
He also noted the “legends” will be available for autographs immediately after the game. There also will be jersey raffles and 50/50 draws.
Tickets cost $15 in advance, which are available at Taggs and Lakeland Personnel, as well as from Mainville and Todd Hamilton.
They cost $20 at the door (if any are still left).
“Get your tickets now,” said Hamilton.
Proceeds from the game will go towards Fort Frances Minor Hockey and the 2006 OFSAA boys’ hockey championship the town is hosting in March.
