Thunderbolts douse Firemen

Only four Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association games were scheduled at the Emo Arena over the past week.
In PeeWee action, the Emo Thunderbolts doused the Firemen (Fort Frances) 6-2, scoring three unanswered goals in the third period to seal the victory.
Emo had scored in the first off Ryan Kaemingh’s stick. But the Firemen tied it in the second on a goal by Kyle Hill (Nolan Windigo/Mason Galusha), then took the lead when Benjamin Bruyere (Brant Witherspoon) hit the twine.
Then it was the Thunderbolts’ turn to rally, getting goals from Kaemingh (Tim Sharp) and Jordan Meyers (Colin Kaemingh) to grab a 3-2 lead heading into the third.
It was all Emo in the final stanza. Meyers (Kaemingh) made it 4-2 before Cody Drennan netted a pair of goals, including one with just 43 seconds on the clock.
Erin Kaemingh and Meyers drew assists on Drennan’s two goals.
In Bantam action, the Emo Predators came out on the short end against the Oddfellows before tying the Holmlund Leafs.
Emo did score first against the Oddfellows from Matt Beacham (Charlie DeBungie), but this was the last time they would get on the scoreboard.
Matt Beck tied the game later in the first, before Matt Hebert gave the Oddfellows a 2-1 lead midway through the second. Tyson Grinsell (Mitch Carlson) added an insurance marker in the third for the 3-1 victory.
Then against the Leafs, the Predators jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one on goals by Tyler Huntley, DeBungie (Scott Barker), and Ashe Woolsey (Huntley).
But the Leafs came storming back in the second with three goals of their own by Brett Legarde (Ben Morriseau), David Moen (Morriseau), and Morriseau.
The Leafs then took the lead at the nine-minute mark of the third when Legarde netted his second of the game from Josh Sigurdson and Morriseau.
But DeGungie was the hero for the Predators, scoring a goal (assisted by Huntley) as the teams settled for a 4-4 draw.
And in Midget action, the Emo Cowboys blanked the OPP (Fort Frances) 2-0, with both their goals coming a minute apart in the third period. lawmen.
