Three lucky winners in rink draw

The raffle draw, sponsored by the Crossroads community rink fundraising committee, was held Friday morning at the school and the three lucky winners were chosen.
Chris Woods of Fort Frances won the garage package, Wayne Pattison (Fort Frances) took home the gazebo while Joe Altbauer (Nestor Falls) won the barn-style shed.
A substantial amount of money was raised and it definitely was a good start on the funds needed for the rink.
The rink committee would like to thank all the businesses that allowed tickets to be sold at their premises, and to everyone who bought and sold tickets.
Without the generous donations from Tompkins Hardware Ltd. and NorFab Building Components Ltd., this draw would not have been possible.
Another great prize package is in the making.

In league slo-pitch action for last week, Good Vibrations beat Village People, Blue Zones downed The Jokers, Up North topped Variety Pack, and last but not least, the Blue Jays triumphed over the River Rats.
Surprise, no games were rained or snowed out–must mean summer is finally here!
In related news, the slo-pitch teams have started selling the 3,000 tickets they’re making available on an eight-person cedar hot tub. The draw is to be made in August.
Tickets cost $2 each, with proceeds to improve the Devlin ball diamond.

Robin’s 2¢:
“I’m going fishing” really means “I’m going to drink myself dangerously stupid and stand by a stream with a stick in my hand, while the fish swim by in complete safety.”
