Winter may bring snow and chilly days, but it doesn’t have to bring isolation. That’s the message GenWell – the Human Connection Movement – is looking to share this holiday season.
As the temperatures drop, it’s more important than ever to keep the warmth of connection alive. Whether it’s reaching out to loved ones, sharing a laugh over a video call, or enjoying a cozy visit with a neighbor, even small moments of connection can make a big difference.
“Research clearly shows how important human connection is to our health and the negative impact it has when we don’t have it in our lives. GenWell wants to be that catalyst to get people to make those connections and form healthy ongoing connection habits,” said Pete Bombaci, CEO and founder of GenWell. “Our goal this holiday season is to get people thinking about actually making time connect with those people on their holiday card list.
We can all play a role in supporting each other by finding creative ways to stay connected this winter, including:
- Share Gratitude – Taking a moment to express gratitude can have a powerful impact. Whether it’s thanking someone for their help, appreciating a kind gesture, or acknowledging a loved one, showing gratitude strengthens relationships and fosters kindness and connection.
- Volunteer Together – Encourage kids to give back, helping others fosters empathy, builds social skills, and strengthens their sense of community. It’s a beautiful way to show them the joy of connection.
- Movie Night Magic – Snuggle up for a Christmas movie night! Laugh, bond, and make memories that will last long after the holidays are over.
- Get Playing – From board games to snowball fights, play strengthens relationships and brings pure joy.
- Remember the magic kids bring to our lives – Their laughter, curiosity, and wonder remind us of the joy in simple moments and the importance of staying present. By spending time with them through play, traditions, or acts of kindness, we not only create lasting memories but also nurture the next generation of kind, empathetic, and connected individuals. This Holiday Season, let’s focus on creating moments that truly matter with the kids in our lives.
The holiday season is the perfect time to connect with those around you! Let’s make this season about more than just celebrations, let’s make it about connection.
