Help prevent electronic waste while simultaneously raising funds for the Atikokan Crisis Centre.
The Atikokan Crisis Centre is embarking on a mutually-beneficial partnership with “ThinkGreen,” a community-based, environmental fundraising program created by Greentec.
Simply gather used print cartridges and cell phones, bring them to the Atikokan Foodland in Atikokan or Howarth’s Home Centre in Fort Frances, and drop them off into the appropriate boxes.
In return, Greentec donates money for every qualifying cartridge and cell phone collected—earning valuable funds for the Atikokan Crisis Centre.
“ThinkGreen” has been responsible for the diversion of more than one million cartridges from landfills and also has provided nearly $3 million in funding to its participants throughout North America.
Another added bonus of this program is that Greentec donates one tree to either the Tree Canada Foundation or America Forests for every 12 rebated cartridges or cell phones a non-profit, charitable organization returns.
The “ThinkGreen” program has been responsible for the planting of more than 19,000 trees to date—removing 3,000 tons of carbon from the atmosphere.
More than 300 million empty printer cartridges are generated in North America every year. That’s 900,000,000 pounds of waste that potentially goes into landfills every year!
Based in Cambridge, Ont., the “ThinkGreen” program is a division of Greentec, a world leader in reverse logistics. It specializes in the collection and recycling of e-waste items such as printer cartridges and cell phones.

Please assist the Atikokan Crisis Centre and the environment by recycling your printer cartridges and cell phones.
If you have transportation or mobility difficulties, and are unable to get to Howarth’s in Fort Frances or Foodland in Atikokan, please save these items until you have collected five or more and then call our toll-free number at 1-800-465-3348 for pick-up.
Thank you so much for your support.
