Theft nets charges

Yesterday shortly after 1 a.m., the Rainy River District OPP received a call of a stolen vehicle from a Fort Frances residence.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers spotted the vehicle in question being driven on King’s Highway and conducted a traffic stop.
An investigation at the scene revealed the driver currently is wanted for two counts of breach of probation.
As a result of further investigation, Bobby Morrison, 26, of the Fort Frances area, was charged with theft of motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol reading over 80 mg, and possession of marijuana.
He also was charged with driving while under suspension, being a Class G1 driver no accompanying driver, and being a G1 licence holder with a blood alcohol content above zero.
Morrison has been held for bail.
