‘The Edge’ eager to take to the air

An FM station within a station, KXBR is eager to take to the airwaves in mid-April at 91.9 FM through KBHW-FM in International Falls.
Called “EDGE-WISE,” the station will combine God’s Word, music, and personality to speak directly to the younger generation in Borderland, preaching the Gospel in a creative and interactive way the youth will respond to.
“Edge FM is not about entertainment–[a] KBHW light for Christians who don’t want spiritual meat,” noted Pam Holder, the station’s first employee.
“We will evangelize the lost using contemporary communication,” she added.
KXBR is approaching the 50 percent mark of funding but still requires more finances ($25,000) before it can sign on the air. Gifts are tax-deductible.
Call or write Edge for additional information at 1-218-285-7398 or edge@kbhw.org
“I am excited about this program and working with young people,” said Holder, who was born in the Falls. She graduated from Rainy River Community College in 1997, and from St. Thomas College in Minneapolis in 1999 with a BA in Geology.
Holder also reminds everyone “Make a Difference–Go Mad across the Borderland” is coming this Saturday (March 25) at 7 p.m. at the Covenant Church in International Falls.
Come join area teens for a time of worship and prayer in preparation for the upcoming Barry Moore Crusade. Questions? Contact Pastor Paul Langmade at 1-218-283-3365.
In other news, Peggy Gustafson, promotions and public relations director at KBHW, said a new program is being added to its schedule.
They invite you to listen to “Odaachimow” (storyteller) each Saturday at 2 p.m. as this person shares the stories of native people across North America.
“Odaachimow” currently is broadcast on stations in Minnesota, Manitoba, and Alberta. It also can be heard on the Wawatay radio network in Northwestern Ontario.
