Donald Young School in Emo had an early dismissal day for students last Wednesday so teachers could be introduced to the new anti-bullying curriculum being implemented in all classrooms of the local public school board this year.
In other news, the final tally for the annual Terry Fox Run held Sept. 25 at DYS came to $1,372. Your generous donations are appreciated and will be used to support Terry’s dream.
Congratulations also to Jordan Ogden, Krista and Heidi Emond, Jessica and Julie Roen, Mary Soucy, Brandy Strachan, and Dana Drennan for their excellent effort at the district cross-country meet at Crossroads School in Devlin earlier this month.
Each student ran a great race and displayed excellent school spirit.
Meanwhile, magazine sales have been completed and DYS is in the process of finalizing the program. Students raised $1,673 this year.
Again, everyone’s support is greatly appreciated.
Finally, the first parent council meeting of the 2003-04 school year will be held this Monday (Oct. 20) at 7 p.m. Please feel free to attend.
