Teens charged in vehicle theft

On Saturday around 3 p.m., Emo OPP officers investigated the theft of a motor vehicle from a residence in Watten Township.
Shortly after 4 p.m., officers from the Dryden OPP detachment located the vehicle at the junction of Highway 502 and Highway 594.
As a result of that investigation, a 13-year-old and 15-year-old female, both of Watten Township, were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime and break and enter and theft over $5,000.
The two teens, who cannot be identified, will appear in court at a later date.
The OPP also would like to remind people regarding the use of electric and motorized scooters.
These two-wheeled scooters, often referred to as “Go-peds,” cannot be operated on roads in Ontario because they do not meet the safety standards for on-road use.
