Teens charged for break-in

In the early-morning hours of Sunday, Fort Frances OPP officers responded to a residential break-and-enter on the 900 block of Cornwall Avenue.
As a result of that investigation, police charged two 18-year-old Fort Frances males with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The pair were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court here June 19.
In other news, Emo OPP officers investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, about three km east of Nicickousemenecaning, that happened Saturday around 7:30 p.m.
The accident occurred when the driver of a westbound vehicle failed to negotiate a corner on the highway, causing the vehicle to contact the gravel shoulder and strike a set of guardrails.
The vehicle then rolled over several times before coming to rest in the north ditch.
The occupants of the vehicle were taken by ambulance to La Verendrye Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The collision remains under investigation.
Anyone having information regarding this collision is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The OPP also would like to remind the public that “Road Safety Week” kicked off yesterday (May 16) and runs until May 22.
This is a national campaign designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures and, ultimately, to save lives.
Officers will be targeting impaired driving, occupant restraint use, and at risk road users.
This initiative is timed in conjunction with Canada’s first holiday weekend of the summer.
