Teen hit by train

From the OPP

Shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday, Sioux Lookout OPP officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train about four km west of there.
Officers attended the scene and, along with the assistance of the Lac Seul Police Service and the Northwest Emergency Medical Services, rescue efforts were conducted.
A 15-year-old male from Sandy Lake, who also was a student at Pelican Falls High School, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The circumstances of the collision still are being investigated.
But alcohol consumption by the pedestrian was a contributing factor.
