Teen facing charges

A 17-year-old Kenora male has been charged in connection with an incident Tuesday that saw schools there go into lockdown.
The teen was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon contrary.
He will be appear in court in Kenora on Oct. 27.
Kenora OPP had received a call just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday that a male suspect had been observed with a firearm on the trail system in the north end of Kenora, near a number of schools.
All schools in the area were placed on immediate lockdown, as well as the Kenora Catholic District School Board Office.
Police attended immediately, and within a short time had located and arrested two subjects.
Police later located the suspect firearm in the area around 1:15 p.m.
It was determined to be a pistol-style pellet gun.
