St. Patrick’s Church in Emo will be holding a St. Patrick’s Day roast beef supper in the church hall next Wednesday (March 17) at 5:30 p.m.
The cost of the supper will be $12 for adults and $6 for children aged six-12 (children five and under are free).
There also will be prizes, a penny table, and live entertainment.
If you’re Irish, just love to wear the “green,” or simply enjoy a good roast beef dinner, plan on attending.

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a Shamrock tea and bake sale this Friday (March 12) from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo hospital cafeteria.
Admission is $3, and there also will be a door prize and some great baking (any donation of baking would be greatly appreciated).
Funds raised will go towards upgrading the X-ray equipment for the Emo hospital.
The auxiliary also is selling memberships for only $2.
The organizers would like to thank everyone for their consistent support over the years.

A St. Patrick’s Day dinner will be held Saturday, March 20 starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapple Hall.
The meal will consist of corned beef, roast pork, potatoes and gravy, buns, vegetables, salads, and desserts.
Live music will be supplied by “Highway 621,” and there also will be a penny table, silent auction, and door prize.
Tickets, which cost $15 for adults and $7 for children eight and under, will be available until March 15 at Barwick Service, the Chapple municipal office, Dev-Lynne’s, Cloverleaf, Emo Drugs, Stratton Store, and the Emo Public Library.

The Calvary Baptist Church in Emo is hosting a free family movie night on Thursday, March 18.
They will be showing “Hoodwinked,” which is an animated, updated, humorous re-telling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood (rated PG).
Doors will open at 6:45 p.m., with the movie staring at 7 p.m.
Popcorn and drinks will be provided free of charge, but child care will not.
All community members are invited to enjoy a free movie night during the Spring Break!

The next “Country Jam” at the Emo Legion will take place Friday, March 26 starting at 7 p.m.
More and more people are attending and taking advantage of this free evening of enjoyable “old-time” country music.
If you love to dance, or just like to sit and listen to some great music, plan on attending this month’s “Jam.”

The Lenten lunch services will be continuing Wednesdays at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo during Lent.
Services start at noon, followed by a soup-and-sandwich lunch at a cost of $4.

The Northern Community Development Services once again is offering its “Summer Job Service” program.
Employers interested in hiring a student for the summer may be eligible for a $2/hour wage subsidy! The students must be 15-30 years old to qualify.

Also keep in mind the minimum wage for all students goes up to $9.60/hour as of March 31.

The Emo Speedway executive would like everyone to remember the 2010 racing season is quickly approaching.
As such, the committee is looking for volunteers to help support stock car racing in the region!
If you are interested in computers, spotting, helping out in canteens, announcing, or whatever you want, do not hesitate to contact them! They especially are looking for people who can help at doing lineups, as well as week-to-week program support.
