Students stage talent show

On Friday afternoon, Donald Young School students gathered for an assembly in the gym to watch a talent show, with parents in attendance.
Principal Nancy Fretter congratulated all the students who took part. “They had done so well in their performance,” she noted.
Students who performed received blue or red ribbons.
First prize winners in each category, who received $10, were Donald Ridsdale (singing–Primary), LaLonde Brothers (lip sync–Junior), Heather Williams (singing–Junior), Leah Mose (instrumental–Intermediate), and Jolene Veldhuisen, Allison Ogilvie, Jayme Strachan, and Sara Hettinga (lip sync–Intermediate).
Next up will be a poster contest Feb. 17. Entitled “Raising the Values Above Violence,” it is being sponsored by the Catholic Women’s League.
