Students raise funds for well

Last week marked Catholic Education Week at St. Michael’s School here.
To complement the theme, “And God Saw that it was Good” (Genesis), students, their families, and staff raised $718 to help build a well for children in Third World countries who do not have access to clean drinking water.
For a toonie, students could participate in “Making a Splash” by purchasing a brick for the well.
Although the cost to build the well is $400, the remaining funds will be used to support other community development projects to help poor families attain improved social status.
This social justice outreach project was in support of “Save A Family Plan.”
