Stratton Toy Library co-ordinators Jessika Ewald and Laurie Anderson, along with student helper Tanya Newby, are approaching 2003 with confidence and enthusiasm.
The second session of “Kindermusik” with Bobbi, entitled “I Can Make Music,” started there today. A reminder children must be registered to attend, and that space is limited.
A reminder that Gayleen Jasper of the Northwestern Health Unit will be at the STL next Wendesday morning (Jan. 15).
STL also will be hosting a scrapbooking workshop Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Meredith and Danette from Scrap-a-Bit in Emo will be on hand to teach how to do a photo-wheel.
The theme will be Christmas, so develop all those pictures you took over the holidays and come join the fun. You must pre-register by calling the STL at 483-5319 (again, space is limited).
Then on Thursday, Jan. 30, provided it’s not too cold, the STL will offer skating for children aged seven and older. If younger children want to attend, they have to be accompanied by an adult.
Permission forms must be signed by parents before your child(ren) can attend.
In other news, because so many children are attending the after-school activity night on Thursdays at the STL, Ewald said they are looking for volunteers to help out on these evenings with the crafts and activities.
This could be a great way for high school students to earn their community hours needed to graduate, she added.
A reminder respite care is offered at the STL on Tuesdays for a four-hour period between 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The fee is $1 per hour per child, and you must pre-register.
