STL changes winter hours

The Stratton Toy Library is open to anyone to drop in and play at any time. If you have any questions about programs or the facility, call 483-5319.
The STL would like to welcome Tanya Newby back this fall. She was the centre’s co-op student last year and decided to come back for one more semester.
As of Sept. 1, the STL changed for fall/winter hours. The new hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday from 1-7 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
It is closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Another change is that after-school activities now will be on Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m. instead of Wednesdays.
The co-ordinator hopes this change is not an inconvenience for anyone, and that the STL will see you all again this fall along with anyone new wishing to attend.
The centre also asks that people pre-register for activities so they’ll know how many to plan for.
The STL also says thanks to everyone who sold and purchased almonds for its fundraising campaign. It was another successful venture and the support is greatly appreciated once again.
In other news, Kinder-Musik—for children aged 18 months to four years—is going to be offered at the STL starting Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Space is limited so parents are urged to pre-register you child(ren) as soon as possible. For more info, call the centre at 483-5319.
Meanwhile, a scrapbooking workshop will be offered Thursday, Sept. 19 starting at 7 p.m. at the STL for all you moms out there who want to have a fun, relaxing evening away from the kids and hubby.
Meredith Croswell from Scrap-A-Bit in Emo will be on hand to teach “Beary Fun Creation.”
This workshop costs $15 and pre-registration is required as a minimum number of participants is needed in order to hold it.
The after-school craft—for children aged six and up—on Oct. 7 will be a Thanksgiving theme while the one slated for Oct. 10 will involve Hallowe’en goodie bags.
Pumpkin faces will be the order of the day on Oct. 14. Please note the STL will hold a Hallowe’en party on Oct. 24 from 3:30-5 p.m. There will be games and crafts, and youngsters are reminded to wear a costume.
The STL will be closing early on Oct. 31 to allow children to go trick-or-treating.
