Standoff in Devlin ends with arrest

A 56-year-old Devlin man was to appear in court today following a seven-hour standoff with police that ended peacefully early this morning.
Shortly after 9 p.m. yesterday, Emo OPP officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Cemetery Road residence in Devlin.
Prior to police arriving at the scene, the victim was able to leave the residence.
Officers then began negotiating with the male suspect barricaded inside of the residence.
During this time, the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and canine unit were activated.
The suspect remained in his residence until about 4:30 a.m., at which time he emerged from the residence and surrendered to police.
