Rainy River District OPP officers responded to the report of a domestic assault at a local motel last Friday around 10:30 p.m.
An investigation revealed an altercation had occurred between a male and a female, resulting in the male being stabbed.
The male subsequently transported to La Verendrye Hospital by police with non-life threatening injuries.
He was later released.
A 42-year-old female was charged with aggravated assault and remains in custody.
Her next court appearance is July 2 to set a date for a bail hearing.
