St. Patrick’s Church to host Christmas tea

An event many people look forward to every year is just around the corner.
St. Patrick’s Church in Emo is holding its annual Christmas tea on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 1-3 p.m.
Hosted by the Catholic Women’s League, the tea will feature frozen homemade pies (lemon,, cherry, and raisin) for sale, as well as meat pies and perogies.
There also will be draws, baking, crafts, and religious articles. As well, tickets will be available for a sweater, doll, and doll bed, which will be drawn on Dec. 18.
Come out and enjoy an afternoon while getting into the Christmas spirit.

“Crafts Galore” will be held at the Emo Legion on Dec. 2-3 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in conjunction with “Holly Daze” festivities in Emo.
All types of articles will be for sale, and a soup-and-sandwich lunch will be available both days.

The next “Country Jam” will take place this Friday (Nov. 18) at the Emo Legion.

The next monthly men’s breakfast is set for this Saturday (Nov. 19) at the Emo Legion, starting at 8 a.m.

Cards played at the Emo Legion last week saw the high going to Erwin Morphet and Rudy Meyers while Gail Thompson and Chery Jameson took the low.
Darlene Bruce won the draw.
A reminder the next Bingo at the Emo Legion goes Tuesday, Nov. 22, with the doors opening at 6 p.m.

An enjoyable Remembrance Day supper was held last Friday at the Emo Legion.
The event was well-attended and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of cutlets with all the trimmings (way to cook, Legion members!)
Br. #99 president Jane Allen welcomed everyone while former MPP Howard Hampton offered words of inspiration while reminiscing about the many war veterans who played a vital role in making our country what it is today.

Scott Galusha and LeeAnn Shattler have been home visiting Scott’s parents (Ralph and Tamara) for the week, plus enjoying some hunting.
