Another event to take in this weekend is the annual “Spring Fever Days” in Emo.
The businesses offer great sales on items, there are numerous free draws, and chances are you’ll meet a lot of people you haven’t seen all winter (or maybe even since last year’s “Spring Fever Days”).
Among the events being held is the Emo Legion’s soup-and-sandwich luncheon, which takes place this Saturday. The cost is $6.50 and includes a beverage.
There also will be craft tables set up featuring a variety of items for sale.
As well, St. George’s Anglican Church will be selling homemade perogies this Saturday at the Rejuvenate Energy Centre. The cost is $3.50/dozen.
See you at “Spring Fever Days”—it promises to be fun and worth the trip!

It is with a heavy heart that I send sympathy to Gerald Bullied and family on the passing of Loraine.
Our community has been hit with such a large number of deaths this past winter and Loraine’s passing is another that will leave such a large void in the lives of so many, especially her grandchildren.
Loraine was a witty, spunky woman with a heart of gold. I remember when the kids were small that going to the Bullied home was one of our favourite ways to spend Sunday afternoons. The coffee was always on, and you could be sure to share some good conversation and especially laughter.
Loraine was a dynamic woman who had to suffer the disease of cancer. But as she did the rest of her life, she did it with dignity and never complained.
She has left memories, values, and love in people’s hearts that will last forever.

Robin’s 2¢:
A plainclothes OPP officer stopped at a farm in Devlin and told the farmer that he was checking his property on suspicion of growing illegal drugs.
“Okay,” said the farmer. “But don’t go to the field over there.”
The officer exploded, saying he had the authority of the provincial government behind him—pulling out his badge and proudly displaying it to the farmer.
“See this badge,” he said. “This badge means I can go wherever I wish on any land, no questions asked or answers given.
“Have I made myself clear?”
The old farmer nodded politely and went about his chores.
Later, the old farmer heard loud screaming and spied the officer running for his life. Close behind was the farmer’s bull, which was gaining ground on the officer with every step.
The officer was clearly terrified.
The old farmer threw down his pitchfork, ran to the fence, and yelled, “Your badge! Show him your badge!”
