The Emo Chamber of Commerce held its February meeting at the Emo Inn, with 12 people in attendance.
An election of officers for 2001 was held, with Colleen Vennechenko as president, David Goodman as first vice-president, Sam Visser as treasurer, and Paul Kryo as secretary.
Directors will be chosen at the March 19 meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. at the Emo Inn.
The upcoming Spring Fever Days also was discussed at February’s meeting, with this year’s dates set for April 19-21.
Once again, the Chamber will be giving away $1,000 in Emo Buck ($500 for first prize and two second prizes of $250).
Special events to be held in conjunction with the annual three-day event will be discussed at the March meeting.
In other news, the Emo Chamber of Commerce will be joining the Northwestern Ontario Association Chambers of Commerce, of which Paul Kyro is treasurer.
Anyone interested in joining the local chamber is welcome to attend the monthly meetings.
