‘Spring Fever Days’ offers fun for all

Robin McCormick

Emo will be full of activity, fun, and great prizes this Thursday through Saturday (April 15-17) during annual “Spring Fever Days” festivities.
Come out and sign up for free draws at Emo businesses, and be one of the observers at “Cuts for Cancer.”
Meanwhile, the Emo Legion will hold its “Crafts Galore” on Friday and Saturday. Tables, which cost $10 a day, are still available to rent.
As well, donations for the penny tables would be appreciated.
Lunch, consisting of soup and sandwiches plus a beverage, will be available, too.
Be sure to take in the many activities, and you’re sure to meet up with folks that you haven’t seen for a while.

Our community expresses sympathy to the family and many friends of Terry Pettis. His sudden passing has been difficult for all who knew him.
He will be missed by the many lives he played an important part in.
Sympathy also to the family and friends of Mary Caul, whose sudden passing was a shock to many.
Your community is holding you close in our hearts at this sad time.

April 2-9 was an exciting time for Ian and Neila Booth, Carol Booth, Betty McTavish, and Tom and Linda Booth.
The six flew off to Las Vegas for the week, with the highlight of the trip taking place on Easter Sunday (April 4) when Tom and Linda renewed their wedding vows on the occasion of their 40th anniversary.
The ceremony took place at the “Viva Las Vegas” wedding chapel. Elvis married Tom and Linda.
Linda’s sister-in-law, Vinnie Joseph, of Winnipeg also shared the time with them.
Longtime friends originally from Fort Frances, Paula and Larry Beare, surprised Tom and Linda by showing up at this occasion (they now live in Las Vegas).
The wedding celebration ended with dinner at Harrah’s for all!
The week also included trips to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, with some going to Hollywood.
All in all, everyone enjoyed the week and as we all have heard many times: “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

Robin’s 2¢:
None of us are getting any younger, and I recently was informed of the four stages of senility:
1. First you forget your name.
2. Then you forget faces.
3. Next you forget to close your fly.
4. Then you forget to open your fly.
