A ham/turkey supper, also featuring salads, potatoes, veggies, and homemade dainties, is planned for Sunday, May 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dance Community Hall (doors won’t open until 4:45 p.m. this year).
The cost is $12 for adult and $6 for kids aged six-12 (those five and are free).
Funds raised will go towards maintenance of the hall and keeping history alive in Dance.

The Devlin T.O.P.S. group will host its annual salad supper Monday, May 27 at the Devlin Hall, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
A wide variety of salads will be available, as well as baked beans, buns, fruits, and delicious salad desserts.
Take-out orders also will be available.
The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids aged six-12 (those five and under eat for free).

The annual Emo Walleye Classic runs May 23-25.
United Church members will host a spaghetti supper on the Thursday, with the Emo Legion serving a walleye supper on the Friday meal.
The cost is $13.
The Legion then will provide walleye a prime rib dinner, along with potatoes, salads, on the Saturday night. The cost is $15.
The EWC still has openings for teams. Call Colleen Vennechenko (482-2171) if you are interested in entering.

The Emo Legion will host its next “Country Jam” this Friday (May 17) starting at 7 p.m.
The Legion also will host an evening of “Country Blend Music” on Saturday, June 1 (more information to follow).

Cribbage played at the Emo Legion last week saw the high score going to Rita Woodland and Adelia Guba, with Agnes Waldeck and Mary Gavin taking the low.
Darlene Bruce won the draw prize.

Robin’s 2¢:
A man calls home to his wife and says, “Honey, I’ve been invited to fly to Canada with my boss and several of his friends to go fishing for the long weekend.
“This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I’ve been wanting, so could you please pack enough clothes for a three-day weekend.
“And also, would you get out my rod and tackle box from the attic? And pack my new navy blue silk pajamas.”
The wife thinks this sounds a bit odd but, being the good wife, she does exactly what her husband asked.
Following the long weekend, he returns home a little tired but otherwise, looking good. The wife welcomes him home and asks if he caught many fish.
“Yes! Lots of walleyes, some bass, and a few pike,” he replied.
“But why didn’t you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to do?” he added.
“I did,” the wife replied. “They’re in your tackle box.”
