Splash party an absolute blast!

The Emo Spray Park committee hosted a splash party at the Emo Lions Park on July 1. An enthusiastic crowd of children and parents enjoyed the warm weather, the giant water slide and some ice cream, Freezies and pop while the celebrated Canada’s 141st birthday.
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the committee’s fundraising effort. Hopefully next July 1, will be the grand opening of Emo’s spray park.

The winners of the Canada Day Poster Contest, sponsored by Chapple Rec. Committee, are as follows.
For the Primary Division (Grades 1-3), Hannah Gamache, Grade 2, S.C.A.P. came in first, while Joseph Brubacher, Grade 2, S.C.A.P. came in second, Austin Mason, Grade 1, S.C.A.P. placed third.
In the Junior Division (Gr. 4–6), Eva Gerber, Grade 5, S.C.A.P. got first place, while Casey Oster, Grade 5, Our Lady of the Way, placed second, and Ben Mast, Grade 5, S.C.A.P. came in third.
And in the Intermediate Division (Grades 7-8), Alexis Hampe, Grade 7, Nestor Falls, placed first, while Emily Brown, Grade 7, Nestor Falls, earned second-place and Brandon Whalen, Grade 8, Nestor Falls, placed third.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s contest.

The David Thompson Brigade/Paddle Canada 1 canoe crew would like to thank the communities of Emo and Rainy River for the great receptions in Rainy River on Wednesday and in Emo on Thursday.

The Community Country Club is holding its ninth tour at the Golden Age Manor in the common room on Thursday, July 10 from 1-3 p.m. Come and learn all about the Philippines.
Don’t forget your Community Club passport. There is no cost for this event and refreshments will be served.

The Royal Canadian Legion is holding its second-annual golf tournament on Saturday, July 19 at Kitchen Creek Golf Course.
It will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $50 which includes supper.
There will be four people on a team and it will be a best ball format. There will be prizes for the closest ball to the pin on #7 and #13 and a prize for the longest drive on #17.
