Rainy River District OPP officers remain at the scene of a fatal collision involving a lone operator of a single snowmachine on Lake Despair.
The OPP and Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the area just before 3 a.m. today.
Upon arriving on the scene, the driver was confirmed deceased.
The name of the victim will be released pending notification of next-of-kin.
The collision remains under investigation in conjunction with the Regional Coroner’s Office, the OPP’s Technical Traffic Crash Investigators, and the OPP’s North West Region Highway Safety Division.
